I'm now in the second year of my HND. This year, we're doing a documentary unit, that I've been really looking forward to. It's a fantastic way to learn about all sorts of things; one of the best possible ways, in fact, is through the documentary film medium. It adheres to two of our senses, aural and visual (hence the moving image medium will often be described collectively as audio-visual
Dunno about you, but I love learning about all sorts of new things. The amount of articles that I read, and wiki surfs I go on to avoid tasks that I have to do and fuel my procrastination are pretty darned enthralling. Although I mainly do it out of avoidance of higher priorities, at least they make me momentarily mildly interesting in parties.
A friend of mine in the class, Aidan, nabbed me instantly, for his master plan. I trailed another friend, Scott, along, kicking screaming. Aidan wants to explore the behind the scenes, and/or life and times, of local drag queens. Pretty nifty, like; definitely out there, and we're bound to learn something new about it, and be able to help spread a bit of intriguing info to a few others out there. So I'm happy enough.
But what, strictly speaking, is drag? What's the point in it, and why is it done? What is the kind of peoplefolk who take part in such an eccentric past time, or is there more to it than being a simple hobby? Find out next time, on DocuBlawg!
